Dutch rental firm Wagenborg Nedlift has bought a new 750t Liebherr LR1750 crawler crane. The crane’s first job was a Thyssen Krupp project in Duisburg-Bruckhausen, Germany.

The LR1750 crawler worked on the exchange of a 40 year-old converter with a diameter of 11m and a weight of 500t. The waste heat recovery boiler was also replaced as part of the project. In order to prevent disturbances in the production process and to be able to execute the lifting works efficiently and safely a bypass was constructed on site.

The boiler equipment was transported to the prefab yard using SPMTs and various mobile telescopic cranes assisted during the assembly/disassembly of the 750t crawler crane. The LR1750 was equipped with a mainboom flyjib configuration that reached a total height of 147m.
