Chinese port crane maker ZPMC has attacked US-based news network CNN over criticisms an anchor man made of the country's products. It described Jack Cafferty's comments as 'the dying colonialist’s attempt to revive in a new guise'.

In a letter signed 'the 40,000 staff of ZPMC', the company said, “We are shocked to know that United States Cable News Network (CNN)’s anchor Jack Cafferty wantonly made slandering and vicious remarks on Chinese products.

“CNN Anchor Jack Cafferty openly clamored in the media against the high-quality, high-tech products as 'junk'. It reflected his arrogance, ignorance and hostility towards the Chinese people and it is the dying colonialist’s attempt to revive in a new guise. How offended our company’s 40,000 workers are about it!”

The letter points out that US ports, on both sides of the country, have purchased almost 200 container handlers. ZPMC says that: “the high efficiency [of ZPMC cranes] enable the United States’ importing and exporting business of nearly trillion US dollars.”

The letter challenges Cafferty: “We ask Mr Cafferty to have a look at the 'steel giants' from China standing in the main ports of the United States. If he dares to clamor again in front of the ironclad proof, we will immediately hire the lawyer in the United States to sue him for libel.”
