Japanese heavy lift and specialised transportation services provider Denzai has established Denzai Ukraine LLC, headquartered in Kyiv.
Prior to the opening of its Kyiv branch, Denzai signed an agreement (at the Bauma trade show) with Ukranian lifting services provider Cranes Ukraine to lease two 800-tonne cranes for the construction of wind farms in the country.
Cranes Ukraine is scheduled to begin construction on a wind farm with a total power generation capacity of 384 MW in July 2025.
Denzai is still in the process of registering the new Ukranian office and says details will be announced in the future.
Denzai says it has long supported Ukraine. In 2021, the company created a programme to actively employ people forced to leave their homes due to the war in Ukraine.
“In Ukraine, following the ceasefire agreement regarding energy infrastructure, large-scale projects such as the construction of onshore wind farms and the renovation of nuclear power plants are set to begin,” said Kohki Uemura, President & CEO of Denzai. “However, there is currently a shortage of service providers in the region equipped with the large cranes and engineering capabilities necessary for such projects.
“Our company has received numerous inquiries, and in light of our proven track record both in Japan and internationally, we conducted a thorough assessment to explore how we might contribute to Ukraine’s recovery and the stabilization of energy supply for its people. As a result, we have decided to establish a wholly owned subsidiary in Kyiv, tentatively named DENZAI Ukraine, to begin offering our services.
“The DENZAI Group is honored to take part in Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts in collaboration with local partners.”
“DENZAI and CRANES UKRAINE join forces to deliver heavy lift and transport projects in Ukraine,” added Oleksii Bondarenko, commercial director at Cranes Ukraine. “This partnership aims to combine the technical capabilities, expertise, and logistical solutions of both companies to effectively implement infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects that require comprehensive heavy lifting and transport solutions. The goal of the partnership is to create new opportunities for the development of Ukrainian infrastructure, support post-war reconstruction, and integrate international standards into local projects.”
