Rókin, a construction company based in the Faroe Islands, has bought its first ever mobile crane: a Grove GMK6300L-1 all-terrain.

The crane was purchased through Manitowoc’s official dealer in Denmark.

Rókin, which operates across harbour construction, piling, drilling, woodworking and infrastructure projects, previously relied on rental machinery for lifting operations.

The newly delivered Grove GMK6300L-1 is now the largest crane operating in the Faroe Islands.

Upon arrival, the machine was put to use at a local harbour, where it carried out lifting operations as part of the company’s ongoing coastal and industrial projects.

The GMK6300L-1 offers a lifting capacity of 300t and an 80m main boom.

Rókin aims to apply the crane’s capability to an expanding range of infrastructure and harbour development activities.

UN Mobilkraner will continue to provide support, maintenance, and technical assistance to Rókin throughout the lifetime of the crane.

Rókin representatives Trúgvi and Búgvi Kjell attended training earlier this year at the Manitowoc factory in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, facilitated by Holger Haber, sales manager for Scandinavia at Manitowoc and Jørgen Andersen, sales manager at UN Mobilkraner.

Haber said: “We are proud to support Rókin with this high performance crane and are confident that the GMK6300L-1 will be a valuable asset for future projects.

“With UN Mobilkraner providing comprehensive support, Rókin has a strong service partner to ensure maximum uptime and operational safety.”

The machine is equipped with a Mercedes engine and Allison full automatic transmission.

Recently, Manitowoc supplied Turkey’s first Grove GMK6450-1 all-terrain crane to Bizim Vinç for use in its equipment rental fleet.
