Crane rental, heavy lifting, and engineered transport specialist Sarens has ordered two additional Spierings eLift mobile tower cranes, expanding its eLift fleet to ten units. The order includes a Spierings SK1265-AT5 eLift and a SK1265-AT6 eLift.
This investment supports Sarens’ sustainability strategy, aimed at structurally reducing CO₂ emissions without compromising operational performance. Sarens has been operating electric Spierings eLift cranes for nearly five years, achieving up to 92% fuel reduction compared to conventional mobile tower cranes.
Spierings says this not only reduces environmental impact but also delivers significant cost savings, especially given current fuel prices.
The Spierings SK1265-AT5 eLift, the latest generation mobile tower crane, offers a maximum lifting capacity of 10 tonnes, a 60-metre jib, and a 1.7-tonne tip load. Its compact five-axle design ensures compliance with various European road regulations, including those in France. The integrated eLift system enables fully emission-free operation when connected to a 16A or 32A mains supply, supported by a PowerPack that absorbs peak power demand. When grid power is unavailable, the crane can operate fully electrically for up to three hours using its battery, which can then be recharged via the onboard generator.
“At Sarens, we deliberately invest in technologies that already help our customers operate more sustainably today,” said Jan L. Sarens, group equipment trade director and board member. “In practice, the Spierings eLift cranes have proven that emissions reduction and high performance go hand in hand. By expanding our fleet to ten eLift cranes, we are strengthening our ability to offer customers across Europe efficient and future-ready lifting solutions.”
Marc Sarens, director at Sarens, said: “For us, sustainability is not a long-term promise, but a concrete choice in our daily operations. The results we have achieved with the eLift cranes confirm that electrification through the Spierings eLift concept is a realistic and scalable alternative for daily crane operations. This new order is therefore a logical next step.”
Jeroen Kerkhoff of Spierings commented: “We are proud that Sarens has once again chosen Spierings eLift technology. The fact that a leading international player is expanding its fleet to ten eLift cranes underlines the confidence in our innovation and in the real-world performance of our machines. The SK1265-AT5 eLift and SK1265-AT6 eLift combine maximum mobility, strong lifting performance, and emission-free operation on site.”
