Lifting equipment provider Manitowoc has opened a new 900m² service centre near Warsaw, Poland, to expand its support for Grove all-terrain and rough-terrain cranes.

The company plans to broaden its services at the site to cover additional brands such as Potain tower cranes in the future.

The new facility, which falls under Manitowoc’s wider efforts to increase customer support across Europe, currently employs three staff members and continues to recruit further personnel.

It offers parts and service support for the several hundred Grove cranes currently operating in Poland, providing a local base for maintenance as well as certified EnCORE rebuild, refurbishment, and repair services.

Manitowoc expects to start its first EnCORE project at the Polish facility in the coming weeks.

Each technician is equipped with a service van containing tools, spare parts, and materials to deliver mobile support as required.

To further enhance service delivery, Manitowoc collaborates with service partners located in both northern and southern Poland.

There are also plans to introduce dedicated crane operator training at the Warsaw-area centre.

Manitowoc’s vice-president for aftermarket services for European mobile cranes, Dirk Wolfsteller said that this development is a component of the company’s broader strategy to expand its customer support footprint across the region.

Wolfsteller added: “We’re opening this service facility to meet the needs of our Grove crane customers in Poland, and it will serve as our base for growth as we continue to expand our customer support operations in the country.

“Our CRANES+50 strategy is about growing our aftermarket services and making sure that whenever customers need a technician, we have one available. We are growing our team here with a plan to offer additional services as we evolve.”
