Heavy machinery manufacturer Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG) has deployed a 1,000t XCA1000G8-1K all-terrain crane in South Korea for a bridge lifting operation in Pyeongtaek.
The machine’s entry into the country marks the first use of a Chinese-manufactured all-terrain crane on a South Korean construction site.
Designed with various specifications, the XCA1000G8-1K is able to conduct lifts at heights up to 100m with its main boom.
The unit includes an eight-section, 102.5m main boom, three variations of outrigger spans, and three counterweight offset positions, providing adaptability for a range of complex site conditions.
In addition to its lifting features, the crane can move on public roads with both its main boom and superlift system attached, measuring 4m in height and 3.2m in width. This enables transport flexibility and reduced time needed for on-site preparation.
XCMG has focused on expanding its high-capacity crane portfolio since 2017, launching successive models in the 1,000t category.
On the project in Pyeongtaek, XCMG managed equipment selection, custom configuration, lift planning, and on-site operations involving auxiliary equipment.
The company applied a coordinated approach across multiple lifting methods and weight classes to meet project requirements and timelines.
XCMG identifies project-based delivery as a significant part of services in high-capacity lifting, especially for infrastructure works where integrated solutions are necessary.
Looking to future international expansion, XCMG states it will continue to provide high-capacity equipment and project-based lifting solutions for large construction projects globally.
