Construction, industrial, and lifting solutions provider MGX Equipment Services has launched its operations in the UK, establishing fully-equipped facilities in Buckingham and Barnsley.
The company’s expansion marks its first entry into the European market, following its long-standing presence in the US.
The newly established UK business provides service, parts, and customer support for all owners of mobile cranes.
MGX Equipment Services aims to serve crane owners, contractors, and rental companies nationwide.
The company has introduced a fleet of service vans and holds a significant stock of spare parts to minimise downtime and facilitate faster issue resolution.
MGX Equipment Services UK service manager Nick Bird said: “Crane owners, contractors, and rental companies are often managing fleets with mixed crane brands, and organising service, repair, and parts for multiple machines is an administrative burden. We are here to streamline the process, and provide fast, effective, and high-quality customer support.”
The Buckingham location houses four large service bays, each supported by two 40t capacity overhead cranes.
The facility also includes an inspection pit and a large test area where engineers can undertake thorough examinations.
Services at the site encompass routine maintenance, complex hydraulic and electrical diagnostics, and complete crane overhauls.
The site is an accredited certification point for the UK’s Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) for crane operators.
At the Barnsley site, MGX Equipment Services customers have access to two fully equipped service bays, which handle scheduled maintenance, hydraulic and electrical diagnostics, as well as complete engine rebuilds. The site also features a test area for thorough crane examinations.
MGX Equipment Services operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Manitowoc Company, a global manufacturer of engineered lifting solutions.
Staff at the new UK facilities have been recruited from Manitowoc’s existing workforce.
In its US operations, the company offers both new and used equipment, crane rentals, original manufacturer parts, and repair and remanufacturing services.
