US-based crane manufacturer Manitowoc has announced plans to present its newest self-erecting crane, the Potain Evy 28-21, at the Batimat construction trade fair in Paris, France.
Batimat 2026 is scheduled to run from 28 September to 1 October.
The company announced that its exhibition will also feature an extended selection of customer support offerings and crane accessories.
The Potain Evy 28-21 has a maximum lifting capacity of 2.2t and is designed for use in residential construction, roofing, and carpentry.
It is equipped with a 28m jib and, when utilising the built-in P+ function, delivers a tip load of 950kg at the end of the jib.
Its standard horizontal working height is 21m; however, the jib can be adjusted to inclines of 10°, 20°, or 30°, with the highest hook point reaching 32.3m at the maximum incline.
Manitowoc indicated that the crane is fully compliant with the upcoming EN 14439:2025 European safety standard for tower cranes, which becomes mandatory from January 2027.
The Potain Evy 28-21 is designed to address the needs of contractors operating in confined and compact sites. The entire counterweight can be transported on a single truck, streamlining delivery and site logistics.
The crane incorporates automated erection through Smart Set-Up remote guidance, as well as on-board Crane Control System (CCS), Drive Control, and Power Control features for managing different operational phases.
Manitowoc’s Potain CONNECT platform is integrated, offering remote diagnostics, centralised tracking, and data insights for crane management.
Manitowoc senior product manager Rémi Deporte said: “Batimat is the perfect stage to introduce the Evy 28-21, which delivers the lifting performance, connectivity, and ease of use customers need to work more efficiently.
“Integrated Potain CONNECT capabilities help owners track performance, simplify maintenance planning, and maximise uptime while reducing operating costs.”
In addition to the new crane, Manitowoc intends to display a range of customer support tools and accessories at Batimat.
These will include the PowerBoost battery system for self-erecting cranes, modular anchor ties for tower cranes, a crane operator urinal, and crane-mounted camera systems.
The company stated that these products aim to improve safety, increase operator comfort, and enhance productivity on site.
