Walls Construction, an Irish company, has utilised five Raimondi tower cranes at the Southwest Gate mixed-use development in Dublin.
The building contractor deployed three Raimondi T577 flat-top cranes and two MRT294 tower cranes to aid in the construction of the Southwest Gate residential project.
Irish Crane & Lifting, which has been the official Raimondi dealer in Ireland for over 20 years, supplied the cranes.
According to the company, the five cranes were installed in three phases by its operations team between the final quarter of 2025 and the third quarter of 2026.
The T577 cranes, which each have a lifting capacity of 24t, are currently the largest cranes in Irish Crane & Lifting’s fleet.
Designed to support extensive precast installation for the project, these flat-top cranes are operating at heights ranging from 48m to 61m and are equipped with 50m jibs. In UltraLift mode, they are capable of lifting 12.38t at the tip.
Irish Crane & Lifting director Robert Coffey said: “The T577s were selected for their exceptional tip loads, optimised load charts and ease of commissioning, making the cranes particularly well suited to the project’s demanding lifting requirements.”
The cranes can lift elements weighing up to 10t at the jib tip.
Featuring an 110kW hoisting gear, the T577 model has a maximum lifting speed of 110m/min, and a drum capacity of 1,030m.
The two MRT294 cranes on site have 40m jibs and are at heights of 38m and 40m.
Southwest Gate is being developed by O’Flynn Group in partnership with the Land Development Agency.
Once completed, the project will add more than 1,100 new homes, as well as retail and commercial spaces, making it one of the largest single residential developments in Dublin.
