The company’s first 26.5USt MR 418 is working on a condominium development in Manhattan. It will subsequently be moved to a project elsewhere in the city, building what will be one of Manhattan’s tallest residential towers.
The other MR 418 crane is working on the Brooklyn Hub, set to be one of the tallest buildings in the region.
Tom Auringer, owner of US Crane & Rigging, said: "Buildings in New York City are getting taller, which means we are enhancing our fleet by ordering larger cranes. Bigger structures call for more height, more line speed and more capacity."
The company plans to add another three more of the cranes to its fleet later this year.
