Crawler Cranes Ӏ Bridge Work – Crawler Crossings
Crawler cranes come with lattice booms or with telescopic ones; they can negotiate tight spaces; they can pick-and-carry; travel over rough ground surfaces; and lift large loads. All of which makes them particularly suited to the often heavy and complex work of building bridges. In short, they are strong and adaptable workhorses that, on their own or with other types, are ideally suited to the task. Julian Champkin gives examples of recent bridge constructions where crawler cranes played their part.
