“This is the first time in the history of Raimondi Cranes that we’ve taken steps to increase our visibility in North America,” says Domenico Ciano, technical director at Raimondi Cranes.

“By confirming our participation in the 2017 edition of ConExpo, we are signalling to the markets of Canada and the United States that we are looking to cultivate strong, new relationships, while simultaneously developing upon cooperative efforts with our existing client base. As an Italian heritage brand that has now transitioned into a more advanced technical space by implementing research-based design into our latest product launches, the luffing LR213 and the MRT159, we believe it’s now time to increase our North American activities.”

The LR213 has been designed to perform in construction scenarios involving high-rise buildings in close proximity or areas with difficult to obtain flyover rights.

“The LR213’s features include impressive hoisting performance, flexibility, and easy maintenance,” says Ciano.

“This new luffing crane can lift the maximum load without reduction of capacity with the full jib of 55m. This not only increases loading capacity, but also speed and additional rope capacity. Two different new hoisting winches at 55kW or 75kW are available and they have been specifically designed for luffing cranes to increase speed paired with more control and more rope capacity at both power levels.”

As a result of solution-based design, the LR213 can provide fast assembly and commissioning.

“The crane is easy to maintain, with hoisting and luffing winches mounted on the big counter jib platform. An increased counter jib surface is a result of the two lateral big service platforms.

All the safety mechanisms and electronic devices are located on the counter jib for an easy access for technicians and operators. What’s more, the LR213 has the capacity to carry 1,000m of rope on its drum allowing for a lifting capacity of 14t in four falls at a working height of 250m.

“This aspect influenced Spanish contractor Harina to employ three LR213s on its latest jobsite in Qatar, the JW Marriot Hotel West Bay which stands at a height of 250m.”

The LR213 is available with five different jib length configurations, from a maximum jib length of 55m to a minimum jib length of 28m, which can all reach the maximum capacity of 14t. The maximum tip load with 55m jib configuration is 2,250kg.

Deliveries of the new crane have already started from the heritage crane manufacturer’s headquarters in Italy, fulfilling five pre-launch orders submitted by Raimondi agents across three continents.

The MRT159 with a 65m jib length and a maximum tip load of 1650kg boasts a maximum load of 10t.

“The MRT159 adopts the new topless crane range design by Raimondi, but we have integrated new solutions that improve safety and that facilitate ideal installation on the jobsite,” explains Ciano. “The flexibility of the MRT159 can provide more jib configurations and a selection of three different winches with respective powers of 30kW, 37Kw, and 45Kw.

The MRT159 has more capacity when compared with the Raimondi MRT152, and that the long jib radius increases the tip load by 25%, also by comparison.

These machines will be showcased at Silver 1-2 in the booth S5035.

“The 2017 ConExpo, co-located with the 2017 IFPE exposition, is a terrific opportunity for Raimondi to further its re-entry in the respective North American markets,” says Ciano.

“We are dedicating considerable resources to reestablishing Raimondi’s heavy lifting market share in both the United States and in Canada, and our on-the-ground participation at the event is just one part of our planned activations targeting those regions.”
