This development sees Avtokran become Russia’s first and only producer of U-shaped booms. The U-shaped profile provides optimal distribution of static and dynamic stresses due to load on the boom, whilst also ensuring much better local stability for the boom’s compression zone. It also improves the boom’s torsion and bending stiffness to reduce its mass, the U-shape strengthens the boom without increasing mass.
Avtokran’s new production method uses robots whenever possible and is a closed-circuit from the time metal sheets are taken in until the ready-assembled boom is out. The lifting capacity of U-shaped booms is substantially greater than other boom profiles, which are equally effective when used on any type of mobile crane.
