More than 500,000 people visited Bauma in Germany in April, up 20% from last time. It was a show best, according to the organisers. The proportion of overseas visitors also grew, and the number of exhibitors rose to just over 3,000.

From a crane point of view, one of the most noticeable trends at the show was the increasing popularity of luffing-jib tower cranes. Not only were there displays from Terex Comedil, but also new launches from Comansa, Liebherr, Wilbert, Wolff and others.
The theme of cranes with a high-altitude angling boom ran through the show on other sorts of cranes, from mobile cranes (Tadano’s ATF 360-G has a powered telescopic luffing jib, Cranes Today May p17), to truck-mounted towers (Spierings and Liebherr), to something entirely different, in the form of MCG’s GTK 1100.
