The firm says that mats provide the strength, load distribution, and ergonomic safety crews and equipment need. The outrigger pads spread the load from an outrigger float over the large surface area of the pad. This assists in reducing the overall pressure being directed into the ground and stabilises the equipment. DICA said that, for for operator safety, their lightweight and standard ergonomic features make them easy to use.
The mats are made from an engineered polyurethane that the company says provides strength, durability, memory recovery and a significant strength to weight advantage over steel and aluminum. Safety Tech outrigger pads are also completely waterproof and highly resistant to road chemicals.
Another feature of the Safety Tech outrigger pads is the industrial grade safety texturing. A manufactured abrasive surface significantly minimizes the effects of all liquids, including hydraulic fluid and water. This provides increased traction between the outrigger foot and pad and reduces the chance of equipment or personnel slipping.
