Goldhofer has incorporated market requests in its design of the Mega PST to improve the tare weight versus capacity ratio. By increasing gross capacity to 50 tons per line Goldhofer claims a substantial cost reduction in transporting. Despite the fact that this axle load is unique in the market, the Goldhofer experts claim a sufficient safety factor in the design that even allows for short extreme peak loads, unavoidable in day-to-day heavy haul operations.
Although heavy-duty modules are some of the most important parts of the product range, which offer a flexible transport system for payloads ranging from 70t-10,000t, the southern German manufacturer also makes smaller transport vehicles at its 120,000 sq m Memmingen factory. The company employs 800 people in manufacture of semi-trailers; semi-trailers with lowbed; drop deck semi-trailers for the transport of long material; special transport vehicles for wind power plants; heavy duty combinations; heavy duty transporters with hydrostatic drive. More than 30,000 vehicles have been delivered to more than 70 countries worldwide.
