THE FIRST low profile slopebed trailer built by King Trailers is being used to make deliveries of specialist vehicles for contractor MHS of the UK.

Coupled to a low-height 6×2 DAF tractor, the slopebed trailer has a low loading angle to allow easy loading of vehicles and machinery that have only minimal ground clearance, such as access platforms. The whole length of the bed forms a ramp at an angle of about 5°, so the full length of the trailer can be used.

The trailer is fitted with a 1,200lb (544kg) winch for use when necessary.

Some vehicles, such as cranes and 32t tipper grabs couldn’t be carried on MHS’s previous delivery vehicle, a 26t rigid truck.
