Extending trailers are becoming an increasingly important part of the range of the UK’s King Trailers.

Last year it launched the MTSE73/4, a four-axle trailer with a deck which extends by 6.5m to provide a trailer with an overall length of 20.1m and a gross trailer weight of 73,000kg. The deck height is 1065mm. The most popular model in King’s extender range had been the MTSE46/3, a general purpose trailer with a 6.5m extension and 870mm deck height.

King has also added a new six-axle ballast trailer to its range. Designed for transporting crane counterweight, it has hydraulic steering on the back four axles. The front two are not steering, but are fitted with a lift facility.

More recently, King has brought out a lightweight plant lowloader. The GTS 36 is designed to provide the opportunity to maximise payloads for transporters of light plant, such as aerial access equipment.

King Trailers is one of the UK’s longer established manufacturers of trailers, having been formed in 1962 as the UK subsidiary of King Truck Equipment of Toronto. It is also sole UK distributor for Ferrari truck loader cranes.
