The unit pivots on a steel mounting bracket, which Robway LSI says makes it particularly useful for jobs where the structure it is mounted on. The bracket moves up and down, and lends itself to use on cranes and other lifting equipment. It keeps the wind cups perpendicular to the wind, the ideal angle to accurately measure wind speed.
The unit is wireless and has a communication range of 1,400m. The company says that the radio technology in the wireless system reduces interference by up to 75%.
The measurement range goes from 0 to 150mph, with a typical accuracy of +/- 3mph.
The wind speed system also includes a GS025 display/receiver and can transmit data to the GS820, GS550 multi-sensor displays and to the GS221 Gateway Router.
The product has a two-year warranty and comes with FCC and CE approval.
