Manitowoc Model 16000 with MAX-ER

With the extra 232t of counterweight the derrick mast holds, the crane can carry more boom to reach farther, particularly with a luffing jib.

The standard boom length is 96m (315ft) on the 16000. With the MAX-ER, boom length can be increased to 120m (394ft). With the addition of a luffing jib, there is an even more dramatic increase. Typically, the 16000 can handle a 54m (177ft) boom with a 84m (275ft) jib, for a total reach of 138m (452ft). But with the MAX-ER, the crane can support a 90m (295ft) boom and an 84m (275ft) luffing jib, a total of 174m (570ft) of reach.
