The RT875E is owned by rental company Wiesbauer, based in Bietigheim-Bissingen, and is working for local contractor Zapf. The crane was sold by dealer KranAgentur Werner. Michael Begemann, crane operator for Wiesbauer, said the RT875E’s best features are its ease of control and ability to work steadily in any conditions.

“Our main reason for choosing the RT875E on this job was its ability to move quickly between lifts. Its off-road mobility is excellent,” he said. “It is also incredibly easy to operate, even when lifting loads of up to 20t.”

The 68t capacity RT875E has a four-section main boom of 39m and a maximum tip height of 71m, when configured with a jib extension. The crane’s features include a removable counterweight, four main steering modes, and ergonomically designed controls. It has an E series cab, which optimises operator comfort and productivity and can be tilted to 20°. Outriggers adjust in both vertical and horizontal directions.

Grafenwoehr currently houses the 7th Army Training Command, which provides equipment testing and training for US and NATO forces. To consolidate its command and control headquarters, the United States Army Europe is moving 3,500 soldiers and their families from across Europe to this site. This requires the renovation of existing facilities and the construction of new homes.
