AN EXTENDIBLE stepframe low-loader with a trough to reduce load height has been introduced by Nooteboom. The trough, or recess, allows overall load height to be reduced by about 300mm as it allows the boom of an excavator, for example, to be placed in the recess. This means that a 45t excavator can travel on a five-axle step frame lowloader without exceeding European Union height restrictions. The trough can be specified on almost all the Multitrailer range with up to six axles, including unsteered and hydraulically steered step frame lowloaders.
First delivery of the new Nooteboom-Scheuerle modular combination transport system has been made to Danish special transport operator Vamdrup. This combination includes two twin-axle modular Flat Combi trailers with extendible centre floor, several coupling weight positions on the gooseneck and coupling weight monitoring system.
The gooseneck allows tractors with three, four or five axles to be used, either with or without a jib crane at the back of the cab. It has four compensation cylinders instead of two, which means that the coupling weight can be varied, in seven stages, between 12t and 40t.
