It may come as no surprise that one of the most common type of press release to arrive in the Cranes Today inbox are regarding orders for all terrain cranes. The crane type, after all, is ubiquitous… and with good reason.
All terrains hit the sweet spot between mobility, lifting power and versatility that no other crane type can match. High-speed road travel, fast setup and a strong lifting for their size underpin their popularity. Demonstrating this are the following recent all terrain sales stories we’ve received, providing a snapshot of who is buying what and why…

“Our analysis of current contracts and pipeline opportunities made this decision straightforward,” said JD Ambridge, joint MD at NMT. “The first LTM 1300-6.2 has performed to expectations… and now adding the luffing jib capability to a new crane addresses specific client requirements we’ve identified.”

OSPREY Portishead, UK

- Delivery November 2025
Osprey plans to use the crane for onshore wind, civil infrastructure, bridge, port, and highway projects.

“It rigs itself using its own boom and can move between pads while part-rigged. SCHWARZE ASC Garbsen, Germany
- Order: x1 Liebherr LTM 1150-5.3
- Publicised May 2025
The purchase is part of Schwarze ASC’s sustainability strategy as the LTM 1150-5.3 is fully approved for operation with HVO. Since September 2021, all new mobile and crawler cranes in Ehingen have been fuelled exclusively with pure HVO fuel.
“For us, HVO is a deliberate step towards greater climate protection, even if this alternative to diesel is currently more expensive,” says Nina Schwarze, MD at Schwarze. “What really motivated me was the fact that HVO 100 offers the ability operate existing technology – especially heavy combustion engines – virtually CO2-neutrally straight away without any conversion. From my perspective, this is significantly more sustainable than waiting for new technology which, in some parts of this sector, doesn’t even exist yet.”
