The engine has a motor pump group at its core providing the pressure required in the hydraulics, which the manufacturer said was had an advantage over conventional loading cranes that use built-in combustion engines for hydralic pressure, because the new pump group can manage entirely without any exhaust gases or noise at all.

In order to use the hybrid drive the operator first switches the combustion engine off, and then connects the Palfinger pump group to the local power grid by means of a cable drum. The entire electrical system including all fuses and the emergency off switch is located in a separate switch box and an integrated power control system ensures a high working speed for the crane at all times.
