3B6 Sistemi Electronici Industriali
Hall 8 B6
Designed for telescopic and lattice boom cranes for original installation and retrofit, the Top Shipper system from 3B6 comes in a range of crane configurations. The system has a CAN BUS link enabling fast data transmission between units.
LMI basic functions include:
• Actual load, max allowable load (SWL)
• Boom length and angle
• Radius and boom tip height readings
• Load limit and rope tension control
• Automatic unsafe motions shut off
• Self-diagnostic software continuously self tests the system, and fail safe electronics are built into it. Load reading is by differential pressure transducer measurement, and boom centre of gravity computing.
Autec Srl
Area D 17
Autec will present its radio remote controls range including the new MK range of handheld 10 and 12 pushbutton systems. Joystick systems will also be shown in the form of the MJ range, successor to the E16 Sirio. Both ranges are fitted with an integrated fail-proof safety system. Both MK and MJ belong to Modular series.
A latest entry in the Light series is the LK 8 hand-held pushbutton controller. The Light series, which also includes the LK 4 and LK 6, is said to be particularly suitable for applications requiring a limited number of commands like small cranes (overhead, jib, tower, portal, monorail, etc.), winches and hoists, truck cranes, tow trucks, and container swing-lifts.
The Light series push-button controllers are, says Autec, light in weight (420g including battery), and have small dimensions (185mm by 80mm by 43mm).
Autogru Rigo
Area D 5-8
Rigo manufactures a range of rough terrain and all-terrain cranes from 25t to 130t. Maximum boom lengths without a fly jib range from 20.4m to 58m.
CAMS Machine
Hall 9 H3
CAMS Industriale SA manufactures industrial self-propelled cranes under the Benici logo. They are particularly used in industrial load handling where self-propelled capacity and manoeuvrability are demanded. The rotating boom is mounted on a bearing disc on the centre of the machine, which is said to allow easy manoeuvres even in narrow spaces and assure perfect balance in any working conditions. The cranes are equipped with diesel engine or batteries, and can be equipped with standard accessories like hooks, jibs, forks, crates, pincers or special equipment.
Liebherr
Hall 8 C11
The new four-axle LTM 1070-4.1 mobile crane has a telescopic jib length of 50m, resulting in a lifting height almost 20% higher than its predecessor. Liebherr says that the working load has been increased by an average of 10% and up to 30% in some outreach areas. With its 16m double folding fly jib, the LTM 1070-4.1’s hook height is 65m. The standard combined slewing gear can be switched from ‘open’ to ‘hydraulically clamped’.
The ‘all-in concept’ of the LTM 1070-4.1 is said to ensure that the 48t four-axle vehicle with a ballast of 10.7t, a 16m double folding fly jib and accessories is ready for use as soon as it is driven on the road. Additional ballast of 3.8t is available to increase the working load so that the new 70t vehicles can be used with a maximum ballast of 14t.
The five-axle LTM 1095-5.1 is the second new mobile crane to be exhibited in Verona, and its telescopic jib length of 58m is claimed to be the longest in its class. The lifting height can be increased to 82m and jib length to 62m when the 7m telescopic jib extension and the 19m double folding fly jib are attached.
The 95t crane model’s maximum weight of 60t permitted for road transport includes a ballast of 15t.
Liebherr has now expanded its ‘all-in crane’ concept to five-axle mobile cranes. An additional ballast of 8t, available as an optional extra, increases the working load – particularly for longer jib lengths.
The 63 LC top-slewing crane introduced in Verona carries a maximum load of 5,000kg in quadruple-reeved mode.
At the boom tip, it carries up to 1,000kg in double-reeved mode. The 63 LC can be used for hook heights of up to 37m on undercarriages with support spindles, on rails or with a foundation tanker. New features on the crane include the EDC slewing gear and the 14kW FU hoisting gear. These have been used in other model series.
Liebherr will exhibit two fast-erecting cranes introduced last year. Based on the hydraulic set-up principle, the new 32 H model is the new top-of-the-line model in the H crane series. The new 42 K.1 fast-erecting crane will also be shown.
Manitowoc
Area C 85-88
Manitowoc Crane Group will show, for the first time in Italy, the latest models from Potain and Grove, as well as highlighting the group’s support facilities of the Manitowoc CraneCARE programme.
The latest addition to Potain’s ‘City’ range – the 6t-capacity Topless MDT 98 – offers a jib-end load rating of 1.2t at maximum jib length of 55m. With the absence of jib tie-bars, one of the key features of the MDT models is said to be the simplified set-up procedure, which can be conducted largely at ground level.
Potain also says it has pioneered the self-erecting tower crane concept with its 15-model ‘Igo’ range, which extends from 1.3 to 4t maximum capacity.
Also at Samoter will be the new Igo 10, the smallest model in the range, with 1,3t maximum capacity rating and 650kg at max jib length of 16m, and with a hook height also of 16m.
From the Grove mobile telescopic crane range, the latest GMK all-terrain crane is the 130t-capacity GMK5130-1.
The machine features a new six-section, 60m main boom with a 130t maximum rating, and a lift capacity of 10t with the boom fully extended. There is an 11-18m hydraulic-luffing swingaway jib, and jib lengths of up to 32m are possible with inserts. Maximum possible tip height is 95m, with a capacity of 1.9t.
Ormig
Area C 44
Ormig will show a 60tm pick and carry crane with 60t maximum lifting capacity, and powered by a diesel engine.
The crane features a rear axle with hydropneumatic suspension, and self-regulation of the speeds according to the lifting capacity.
The company will also show a pick and carry crane with 33t lifting capacity, and powered by an electric battery.
Meanwhile, Ormig’s 804AC truck-mounted crane has an 80t maximum lifting capacity, and a six-section hydraulic boom with a height of 48m. The ground weight of the crane is 32t.
Claimed advantages include the high speed offered by the truck, good manoeuvrability, and suitability for towing.

Getting there
Samoter takes place in Verona, which is at the crossroads of the Venice (115km)-Milan (160km) motorway and the Brennero (220km)-Bologna (140km) motorway. It can be easily reached by road or rail.
The Exhibition Centre is about 3km out of the city centre, and a few minutes’ drive from the Verona sud exit (Venice-Milan motorway). A dual carriageway connects the exhibition centre to the local airport (Valerio Catullo).
