Kolbeco will showcase the latest technologies and development in crawler cranes at Bauma Munich 2016.

The newest crane CKE900G-2, a new 90t multi-purpose crane with a new engine which complies with EU Stage IV and US Tier 4 Final exhaust emission regulations.

The 90t is the first of the second generation of Kobelco’s CKE-G Series cranes.

The other crawler crane on the show is the 250t capacity CKE2500G. Kobelco’s CKE-G series models are designed to provide the smooth, reliable performance, easy transportability, energy-saving and eco-friendly features that today’s contractors and rental companies require.

All transportation elements are less than 2.99m wide and weigh 45t or less, making them compliant with worldwide transport regulations and eases assembly on site.

The original G-Series was launched at ConExpo in 2011. The cranes were designed with saving energy (and the environment) in mind. They include three key features that Kobelco says will help with this.

When selected, AIS, or Auto-Idle- Stop, automatically stops the engine when it has been idling for more than 10 seconds. Kobelco says AIS reduces fuel consumption and cost. By reducing wear and deterioration of engine components, maintenance cost is reduced.

G-Winch provides higher line speed without raising engine speed.

The high-speed mode allows an unladen or lightly-loaded hook to be raised or lowered at maximum line speed without raising engine.

Finally, G-Engine keeps the engine running within fuel-efficient parameters by limiting maximum engine speed. Engine speed is reduced, but at the same time pump capacity is controlled to maintain maximum winch speed for running or lifting. Kobelco says G-Engine improves fuel consumption by 10%.
