Hueb Pater was in crane rental for steel erection. The Pater business has been going for 33 years. He wanted to retire, but his children did not want to take over the business. In May, he sold it to us. He still works for us a few hours a week.

Herms has always wanted to have a steel erection division. So we have come together.

Now we have three depots in total: Epe and Doetichem for Herms, and Kootwijkerbroek for H Pater.

Herms has 15 cranes in total. There are nine ATs, capacities ranging from 45t-90t, from Liebherr, Demag and Grove, and six Spierings truck-mounted tower cranes. Pater has six 35t capacity PPMs, one 50t PPM, two truck-mounted tower cranes and a 90t-capacity Compact Truck city-class rough-terrain.

We like to have many different manufacturers. There is a best type of crane for every job. We look for what crane is for us the best. Sometimes that’s Liebherr, sometimes that’s Grove.

We have just bought two Grove 50 tonners, for delivery in summer 2008. We already had one, and we like it a lot.
