To provide the Institute of Ocean Sciences, Sidney, B.C. with a
quantity of one crane.
The minimum requirements of a yard crane is as follows: In
general, a rubber tired, 4×2 drive maintenance and material
handling type full hydraulic, self-propelled mobile hydraulic
crane with a minimum 15 ton (30,000 lb.) capacity on-outriggers
360 and 8-1/2 ton (17,000 lb.) pick-and-carry capacity. Unit
shall be equipped with front drive/steer axle and full hydraulic
rear steer axle (all wheel coordinated steer) with a full
hydraulic boom and superstructure capable of 360° continuous
rotation. Minimum overall boom length to be 54 feet.
Dimensions & Weights: The machine shall not exceed 8 ft.
overall height, 8 ft. width or 26,800 lb. gross vehicle weight
in the travel configuration with all equipment as specified in
this specification.
