Responding to market demand, north east UK-based Lift-Rite has introduced a new product to its load testing fleet, a load test cradle capable of lifting weights of up to 400 tonnes, believed to be the first of its kind in the UK.

The 400-tonne cradle is a unique product, designed and manufactured by Lift-Rite, which is used in conjunction with the company’s 400-tonne modular spreader beam.

Available for hire, the 400-tonne weight cradle is an addition to Lift Rite’s already comprehensive load testing fleet.  This includes a 250-tonne weight cradle, a 200-tonne subsea cradle, a range of 50-tonne cradles, with central lifting points offering ultra-low rigging heights, and a fleet of 25 tonne, 100-tonne and 150-tonne cradles in various configurations.

Speaking about the introduction of the 400-tonne cradle to its product range, MD of Lift Rite, Andy Lovell said: “By expanding the weight testing capability of our cradle range, we are responding to market demand and the increasing requirements for challenging and heavier load tests.  By expanding our fleet, we can ensure we are meeting the complex and varied needs of the market with test weights solutions that deliver to our client’s requirements.

“Our new cradle and lifting beam arrangement offers something new to the market which simplifies large capacity load testing.  Achieving capacities in this range usually requires at least two cradles with a multi-beam rigging arrangement, demanding complex planning and higher hire costs.

“We’re very proud to have brough this product to market and are already seeing strong demand for it within our industry.”

Lift Rite offers a wide range of hire equipment to the subsea industry including test weights, cradles, and water bags.  The business provides tailored, versatile and sustainable solutions to leading energy operators, wind farm developers and offshore service companies across the globe.
