Abnormal Load Engineering and Ainscough Crane Hire have together carried out what they claim is the UK’s first tandem lift involving two 650t capacity telescopic cranes.
The lift was planned by ALE which then called on the services of crane hirer Ainscough to provide the two Demag AC 650 cranes (called AC 2000s by Ainscough).
The 200t transformer had to be tandem lifted from ALE transport on to a coastal vessel at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire in preparation for its onward journey, bound for Tilbury Docks in the south east of England.
