It has been selected as the turbine installation contractor for the Lillgrund offshore wind farm off Malmø, Sweden in the Baltic Sea and in the Q7 Offshore Wind Farm off the Dutch coast near IJmuiden.
Siemens Wind Power A/S selected the company to install 48 Siemens SWT-2.3-93 turbines in the first offshore farm in Vattenfall, Sweden. At a combined power output of 110.4 MW it will be the largest offshore wind farm in Swedish waters.
A2SEA signed a contract with Vestas Offshore Applications II BV for the provision of the installation
vessel Sea Energy to erect the 60 towers and turbines for the Ijmuiden, Netherlands wind farm project. The project, which is owned by Econcern, Energy Investments Holding, and ENECO Energie, is the second major offshore wind farm to be built in Dutch waters in only two years.
The operational experience gained from working with Vestas and Ballast Nedam out of IJmuiden on the OWEZ project last year should allow A2SEA and Vestas to hit the ground running on this challenging project, the company said.
