Ainscough was employed by fabricator Watson Steel Structures.
The sculpture, called Aspire and designed by architect Ken Shuttleworth, is the tallest piece of freestanding art in the country.

It used a 500t capacity and 200t capacity Liebherr mobile cranes to lift the sculpture in three sections on to a concrete plinth, at the University of Nottingham's Jubilee campus. The heaviest lift weighed 22t.
