Italian manufacturer Locatelli displayed a 12.5t capacity Gril 8125 rough terrain crane that is powered by battery. The crane has been sold to Air France, which will use it for working inside aircraft hangars where diesel fumes would prove overwhelming.
The order was made after two years’ experience using a similar model. The second machine differs from the first in that it has an aerial work platform attachment.
The Gril 8125 has 360° rotation and comes with a Caterpillar engine as standard.
Locatelli also revealed that it has sold 10 units of its Gril 840, a 40t RT, to Tartous Port Company in Syria, having already delivered 10 units of its 20t RT two years ago.
