Although the firm has had a presence in the Middle East for nearly two decades it has only now setup in Iraq, and says it is pleased to be the first major global heavy lift transportation and installation company to have a permanent base in the country.
ALE describes Basra as “the hub of the Iraqi oil developments” and cites this as the reason for choosing to establish a base in this City.
Executive director at ALE, Richard Peckover commented: “The new Iraq office will allow us to offer a more complete service in this key geographic area, we are currently involved in projects in Iraq and are looking forward to offering our complete set of services within Iraq.
ALE’s operations in Iraq will be managed by Alberto Pittaluga, who is seen as a suitable choice to head up the Basra office based on his several years of experience in the heavy lifting sector.
Commenting on the new appointment, Peckover added: “We wish him well in his new position.”
