Abnormal Load Engineering has taken over the heavy lifting and transport operations of Alstom Power Service UK. The deal concluded on 1 December.
Alstom’s Distribution Services Division (DSD) provides general and heavy transportation, heavy lifting, shipping and forwarding services for the power, electricity transmission, manufacturing and related industries. It operates a fleet of heavy installation equipment, conventional modular axles, heavy-duty trucks and transporter frame trailers.
The DSD business will be integrated into ALE’s operations at its offices in Hixon, UK. The combined equipment fleet includes more than 10 heavy lifting gantries, including 600t hydraulic Lift N Lock gantries, crawler and pedestal cranes up to 1,500t capacity, 10 transporter frame trailers, ranging up to 450 tonnes capacity and 32 axles, and more than 900 lines of modular conventional and self-propelled axles.
