Alimak of Sweden has launched the Scando 650, which can lift up to 3t and travel at 38m/min to 65 m/min. Maximum lifting height is 200m. A frequency inverter drive offers smooth starting and stopping. The track system is claimed to consist of standardised and modularised components. Its control system, the ALC II, can control up to six construction hoists.
US firm Beta Max’s new construction hoist is the 1,000 lb (.45t) capacity Max Climber 1000 Rack & Pinion hoist. The system’s 5 ft (1.5m) sections, each 73 lbs (33 kg) can be installed with just three bolts. Maximum working height is 400 ft (122m). The basket pivots to help load and unload supplies and loading sensors. A handheld pendent has an emergency shut off and a separate overspeed brake to prevent free-falling. The system also comes with emergency upper and lower limitation devices, a manual brake release lever, and clamps for mounting the track to scaffolding or a building.
