UpRight Inc of the USA launched four new pieces of equipment at the American Rental Association exhibition in Las Vegas last month, including the SB80 telescoping boom lift.

The SB80 can lift 272kg in workers and materials to a maximum working height of 26.2m. It also has a 21.9m horizontal reach and is designed to be able to travel through mud and rough terrain.

Also presented at the ARA show were a new articulating boom lift, the AB62RT, and two scissor lifts, the XRT33 and XRT27.

The AB62RT’s platform raises to nearly 19m and reaches 9.7m horizontally.

The XRT33 has a maximum working height of 11.9m, can lift 453kg and is aimed particularly at building services contractors.

The XRT27 offers a slightly lower maximum working height of 10m, but it can lift more than the XRT33 – up to 567kg.

Having expanded considerably from its origins in Berkeley, California more than 50 years ago, UpRight has recently opened a new distribution warehouse in Rotterdam, Holland.

UpRight International will use the 10,000m2 facility to increase strategic stocking of powered platforms and parts. The new warehouse is also equipped to handle the larger boom lifts that are contributing to production growth at UpRight’s US and Irish manufacturing plants.

The Rotterdam base is headed by Rick Mustillo, who transfers from Australia to join the sales and marketing team.
