Longtime customer Arabian Machinery & Heavy Equipment Company (AMHEC) signed a contract for 100 GR-800EX units, marking one of the largest orders by volume and, therefore, one of the most significant crane orders in Tadano’s 105-year history.
The addition of 100 new GR-800EX models will allow AMHEC to deploy new cranes that can handle their customers’ extensive rigging operations and movements—especially at drilling rigs—across Saudi Arabia. AMHEC, which originated in 2007, is based in Khobar and serves as a major provider of crane rentals, heavy lifting, transportation, and rig move services across the kingdom. Their crane fleet exceeds 400, a notable percentage of which are Tadano models.
Ceremony at the Shido Plant
The magnitude of this order brought leaders of Tadano and AMHEC together along with Saleh Abdulaziz Abahsain Co., Ltd., Saudi Arabia’s distributor of Tadano Japan products for over 40 years. Tadano CEO Mr. Toshiaki Ujiie, AMHEC CEO Mr. Abdullah Faisal Al Suwaiket, and Mr. Saleh Hamad Al-Mogbil, Managing Director of Saleh & Abdulaziz Abahsain Co., Ltd., met at the Shido Plant in Kagawa—where most of Tadano’s rough terrain cranes are produced—for the handover ceremony.
Mr. Ujiie welcomed Mr. Al Suwaiket with a golden key commemorating the 100-unit order for the GR-800EX cranes.
“We greatly appreciate Arabian Machinery & Heavy Equipment being such a longtime Tadano customer. Their order of 100 GR-800EX cranes demonstrates how such a partnership can continue to grow when you strive to meet and exceed expectations,” said Mr. Ujiie. “We also greatly appreciate the work and service of our partner and distributor Saleh & Abdulaziz Abahsain. They are a key reason why AMHEC continues to expand this outstanding relationship.”
“We are delighted to secure this historical single-order deal of 100 units of Tadano rough terrain cranes from our prestigious customer Arabian Machinery & Heavy Equipment Co. Ltd.,” said Mr. Saleh Hamad Al-Mogbil, Managing Director of Saleh & Abdulaziz Abahsain Co., Ltd. “Abahsain’s Heavy Equipment Division will continue to serve Tadano crane customers with a kingdom-wide effective and reliable sales and aftersales network.”
“Tadano products are very good and reliable, durable, and easy to service,” said Mr. Abdullah of AMHEC. “This is still an emerging market with a high level of competition. As we expand the fleet to address our growing needs, we always seek improvement in product quality while maintaining efficiency in prices, both for initial expenses and ongoing operating costs.”
Tadano’s reputation for safety, quality, and reliability already makes them a top choice to achieve these goals. Ongoing technological advancements that save fuel, reduce emissions, and streamline operations help to maximize efficiency, reducing costs in both the short and long term. For AMHEC, these features factor significantly into their decision-making when purchasing rough terrain cranes—especially with an order for 100 new units.
Much of the feedback on Tadano cranes centers around how “user-friendly” they are in the field, according to Mr. Jaber, Procurement Manager for AMHEC.
With such a large order, logistical plans are in place to ensure a proper delivery pace. For each delivery, services and training must be provided to help ensure AMHEC can absorb them into their fleet and assign them to the job sites across the country most efficiently.
The addition of 100 cranes will require significant additional training. AMHEC works with both Tadano corporate and their Saudi Arabian distributor Saleh & Abdulaziz Abahsain Co., Ltd. to get the necessary instruction, spare parts, and ongoing service such a large number of new units will require. Previous training sessions have been “excellent,” as reported by Mr. Jaber as well as Mr. Sayeed Ahmed Babajan, AMHEC Procurement Supervisor.
Tadano proudly looks forward to the next level of their already long relationship with AMHEC with this momentous order for their GR-800EX cranes—one of the highest in terms of volume the company has ever received. Both the company and distributor Saleh & Abdulaziz Abahsain Co., Ltd. stand ready to provide smooth delivery, proper training, rapid delivery of parts when needed, and reliable service to assist with the growth of their customers.
