AmQuip is the latest US mobile crane rental company to diversify tentatively into the tower crane business and has bought its first tower crane.
AmQuip’s first tower crane is a 144tm class Potain MDT 302. General manager Frank Bardonaro explained that a flat-top model had been chosen because the first contract is a Cincinatti hospital site for Messer Construction where a helicopter air ambulance may need to fly over.
‘We are looking forward to the opportunity to increase our tower crane fleet, and are currently bidding on six more projects that would require tower cranes,’ said Bardonaro.
