US rental company AmQuip has changed its quality assurance department to AmQuip Learning Centre.

The Bensalem, Pennsylvania based company is offering crane safety training nationwide and has what it claims is the USA’s ‘only fixed-site permanent training facility for crane operators’.

The new facility has two classrooms with space for up to 40 people, an area for practical demonstrations, and ‘state-of-the-art’ presentation equipment. AmQuip Learning Centre was launched in April with a three-day workshop for Accredited Practical Examiners for the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). Graham Brent, executive director of (CCO) was present at AmQuip’s Learning Centre on opening day and said: ‘It looks great. This is just what we, at the National Trade Association’s Headquarters in Virginia, have been hoping for. This new site will have an impact on crane safety nationwide.’

AmQuip safety director Jeff Hammons said: ‘This is the first centre of its type, dedicated to providing training and certification – both written and practical. It is a huge endeavour and commitment.’
