West Australia tower crane rental company D&G Hoists & Cranes has agreed a deal to take over Northern Suburbs Crane Hire of Perth.
Northern Suburbs is an established supplier of mobile cranes up to 100t capacity to the construction industry in the Perth region. Its primary client is Perth Rigging Company. Both Northern Suburbs and Perth Rigging are owned by Ray Clark. Clark is now selling his crane business to concentrate on the rigging company, which is expected to remain Northern Suburbs’ main customer.
D&G managing director Gino DeCesare said: ‘The acquistion of mobile cranes and a crawler to our existing fleet of self-erecting tower cranes and hammerhead tower cranes significantly expands our capacity. We now have an increased range of cranes and a total fleet of 27.’
Northern Suburbs Crane Hire will continue to trade as a separate company but will operate out of D&G’s Balcatta premises. Ron Smith remains as managing director, moving with the business.
DeCesare expressed confidence in the West Australian construction market, saying that it was ‘still expanding’, and has recently bought five new Potain hammerhead tower cranes and five second-hand Alimak hoists. To add to Northern Suburbs’ fleet, he is also negotiating the purchase of an additional three to five mobile cranes.
