Auto Crane Company, US manufacturer of truck-mounted cranes and service bodies, has introduced a new 5.5tm (40,000 lb/ft) articulating crane.
The A-40 has a standard hydraulic reach of 5.3m (17ft 3in) and is also available with two additional hydraulic extensions capable of reaching more than 8.8m (29ft). Using ‘high strength steel and revolutionary design techniques’, according to the manufacturer, the A-40 is 1.7m (68 inches) tall, requires just 600mm of mounting space, and weighs in at only 790kg (1,750 lb).
