Castellan Group has chosen Vogel automatic chassis lubrication systems for its Belotti range of container handling cranes.

Vogel-equipped Belotti B98M reach stacker cranes have recently been installed at major rail-heads in London and Liverpool in the UK. These units were supplied with an integral piggyback spreader, enabling them to lift a complete trailer unit directly onto and off a freight train.

Each crane is equipped with the Vogel KFU soft grease system with 25 lubrication points which Vogel claims “guarantees regular, time-controlled, automatic lubrication of the crane’s recommended service points, even under the most difficult conditions”. Vogel adds that no manual input is required, except for reservoir top-up at normal service intervals.

Automatic lubrication means increased vehicle operating time and lower maintenance costs. Vogel claims to be the world’s market leader in automatic lubrication systems.

Roger Hamilton, managing director of Vogel Ltd in the UK, says: “While we are best known for our truck and trailer applications, cranes are an ideal application for automatic lubrication, especially in dock locations where they also provide valuable protection against potential salt water deterioration.”
