The UK’s Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) has found a new chief executive. He is Colin Wood, who joins from lifting contractor Baldwins Industrial Services where he had been commercial director since 1995.

The CPA said that Wood has more than 30 years experience of senior management in the plant hire industry during which he has held main board directorships with several major plant hire companies.

The CPA is the trade association which represents construction equipment rental companies in the UK.

Wood’s predecessor, Keith Brogan, lasted just three months in the job before leaving in August last year. The post has been vacant since then. In January this year Brogan joined the Institution of Civil Engineers as communications director.
