UK based crane rental company Baldwins Industrial Services reports that it has trebled the size of its US subsidiary, Houston based Phillips Crane & Rigging.

Sales director Grant Mitchell said that the value of the US business had jumped from $8m to $24m in the first 18 months of ownership and that it is “still on a steep growth curve”.

Three new depots have been opened in Texas at Long View, Corpus Christie and Dallas, and Phillips has made its first move beyond the state by opening in Memphis, Tennessee. Baldwins is still searching for a managing director for its US operations. Chairman Richard Baldwin’s preference is for a US citizen.
