The cranes will be used during the installation of the main generator and various other pieces of equipment and devices. They can operate in temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius.
Before their transportation to Moscow, the cranes will be fully erected and tested in Kaliningrad. They will then be transported by railway by means of special coupled type carriers with intermediate platforms in order to pass tunnels and areas with small turning radius.
Meanwhile, Baltkran is fabricating more high-capacity special overhead cranes bound for Kurskaya and Leningradskaya nuclear power plants. These cranes also will be shipped before the end of the year.
