US company Barnhart Crane & Rigging is increasing the amount of equipment at its depot in Richmond, Virginia and increasing its emphasis on heavy rigging and transport in its Gulf Coast Division.

Barnhart maintains a presence in Richmond through its Williams Crane & Rigging subsidiary. The Richmond office provides heavy lift cranes, specialised transportation and engineered lifting services throughout the eastern USA, concentratring on the Mid-Atlantic states from Pennsylvania to Georgia. The company said that the additional equipment would enable the Richmond office to provide increased crane service throughout the region. Tim Heldman has been appointed branch manager of the Richmond office and is relocating from Barnhart’s project office in Huntingburg, Indiana.

“Based on market trends, we decided that it makes more sense to concentrate on providing heavy rigging and transportation solutions along the Gulf Coast,” said Jeff Latture, vice president of Barnhart’s Gulf Coast Division. “We are relocating the cranes that we have in Mobile to our project office in Richmond to beef up our fleet in the Mid-Atlantic.

“We’re best known for providing elegant solutions in the heavy rigging industry. We’re simply putting a renewed emphasis on that expertise, along with our abilities to provide logistics, transportation and engineering services.” But although some cranes are moving from Mobile to Virginia, a Demag CC 2600 has been added to the heavy lift fleet in Mobile.
