The order includes 108 axle lines which will be delivered over the next two to three years, with the first deliveries commencing in autumn 2006.

Alan Barnhart explains: “With a payload of 40 tonnes per axle line, this delivery will allow over 4,000 tonnes to be transported. This can even be increased by using our existing non-propelled Goldhofer modules, which can added to the combination without any height adjustment necessary, resulting in an absolutely even loading platform.”

The delivery will include a distribution of driven axle lines, comprising four and six axle modules as well as some split modules. The self-propelled modules guarantee the smooth delivery of power thanks to their hydrostatic drive, ensuring even the heaviest of loads can be moved jerk-free at a speed of up to 17 km/h.

The Goldhofer self-propelled modules feature electronic multi-way steering which enables normal, diagonal, transversal and carousel steering. Their optimum frame construction allows for extreme load concentration, whilst uneven terrain can be negotiated thanks to hydraulic axle compensation of +/- 300 mm (20 in).

Barnhart operates about 150 Goldhofer THP/SL axle lines. Goldhofer has sold 200 lines of the PST/SL-E range since it launched in 2004.
