Barnhart Crane & Rigging of the USAhas announced further expansion in the East Tennessee market with the purchase of the crane and rigging assets of C. Reed Davis Contractors of Knoxville.
Until now, Barnhart’s project office in Knoxville has been primarily involved in plant relocations, large crane rentals, and engineered heavy lift projects.
“Barnhart Crane & Rigging is continuing to expand our market presence eastward by acquiring the crane and rigging assets of C. Reed Davis Contractors. This acquisition will include offering approximately 45 existing employees positions at Barnhart with several additional positions being added. Barnhart Crane & Rigging will couple the traditional crane services of C. Reed Davis with the specialty lifting services offered by Barnhart to continue our strategic growth plan to expand into other markets throughout the United States,” said Jeff Swanson, Barnhart vice president, East Tennessee Division.
Future expansion plans include Richmond, Va., Tampa, Fla., and Chicago later this year.
